Leave the past behind, find new passions

For the past few years, I’ve been looking for a new passion. Something that would move me the way soccer used to when I was a kid. I’ve been searching everywhere, trying a lot of different things. I even thought soccer would ever be my only passion and I should go back to it. I was so convinced that it was my DREAM.

But then, as I watched the Olympics, I thought long and hard about all the sacrifices required to reach the top in any sports or discipline. Was I really ready to go to soccer practice at least 3 to 4 times a week, spend my whole saturdays away, leaving my family behind, spending so much time in the car to go play soccer, when we don’t even have professionals ?

Yes I LOVE the game, I LOVE playing, I LOVE being part of a team, I LOVE working hard to improve my game. But I LOVE my family even more. I realized I was not ready to be that much away from them, cutting that much the time I got to spend with them.

I realized that soccer was a thing of the past and had to stay behind me. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t find another passion that would drive me, make me wake up and be excited about the day. I thought about what I loved, and nothing came even close to the way I felt when I was on the field.

But I didn’t stop searching.

That’s when I remembered how much I LOVE learning new things. I love studying, learning and discovering new things. That is a real passion I have developed when I was in Uni. I still needed a FOCUS, because there are so many topics you can study, so many things to learn, so many books to read !

A few weeks ago, as I was scrolling through Instagram pictures, I saw the picture of a girl with a book called “Find your extraordinary”. I was intrigued and decided to order the book.

Find you extraordinary

This is the BEST investment I’ve ever made. I read this book in less than a week. It helped me uncover my current passion. I feel so much energy, so much drive, so much curiosity for the world that I’m beyond happy right now.

And I know success will follow. I am 100 % convinced I can make this new dream come true. Because I know for a fact that in the end success happens when you give your all to your passion, whatever that is.
